Networks and Communications

The advantages of communication technology are as follows:

It's very convenient to communicate using technology especially using Skype, you can have a conversation at home in your pajamas with someone in India, Japan, or anywhere in the world. Another great advantage of this is speed, you can instantly send out emails and text messages to multiple recipients at once and this can save a lot of time and money.

The disadvantage of communication technology is the lack of context. You can send a message saying "I'm Fine." but many people in there head would interpret this in different ways because there would be no facial expressions or hand gestures to convey the meaning.

My advice to people having issues with technology is to first Google or YouTube everything before you try it yourself unless you know exactly what you are doing. To all the texters who drive (or people that walk into fountains while texting), use Siri or any other app that allows you to convert speech to text. For junk or spam emails, try clicking and scrolling down the email and most times there would be a link that you click which would stop they're automatic system from sending you emails.

  1. Skype is definitely convenient for long distance communication. When I was over in Japan for a couple years that was the only way to talk to my wife everyday

  2. I understand the disadvantage because if you text im fine but what you really wanted is help the person will not understand what you are really crying for help

  4. I agree with everything especially the Skype concept, but there is one I don't agree with and that's YouTube because that site has caused so many problems in social networking society.

  5. I agree with you that it is important to use Google and other search engines along with video websites like YouTube as sources of information. There is so much information on the Internet. To be able to have a proper handle on efficiently finding and deciphering the information you need is a valuable tool in today's world.

  6. Hi Ehsan! You gave some good advice. I've used youtube for many tutorials. I don't feel that Siri would of helped that woman at the mall though. She was too busy being "dumbfounded". LOL
